WHAT IS SHRIEKFEST?
Shriekfest is an international festival and screenplay competition dedicated to getting horror/thriller/sci-fi/fantasy filmmakers and screenwriters the recognition they deserve. What makes our festival unique is that we proactively help the filmmakers and screenwriters by promoting their work to the industry.
When: October 2 - October 5 2007
Where: Raleigh Studios (the longest continuously operating studio in the country) The screenings take place in the beautiful Chaplin Theatre which seats 171 people. The Chaplin Theatre also has Dolby surround sound capabilities. Located at 5300 Melrose in Hollywood, CA (From the 101 freeway, take the Gower exit South to Melrose, go Left and the studios will be on the right across from Paramount Studios) there is plenty of street parking and a paid parking structure.
DEADLINES:
Regular entry date is May 24

We need more women like you in the Hollywood biz! So if you've got a video camera and a good idea, it's time for you to enter the Every Woman's Film Competition. The movie you make could be aired on national TV on the Lifetime Movie Network, plus you could wind up with the grand prize of $5,000 in cash!
If you win this competition, your movie will not only be viewed by celebrity judges but will also be shown at the Hamptons Film Festival and the Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment Breakfast -- and you'll be attending both events as the special guest.
Why enter this contest? Not just for the amazing prizes but also because there are not enough women like you making movies. In 2006, women comprised only 15 percent of all directors, executive producers, writers, cinematographers and editors working on the top 25 domestic-grossing films. Independents' Film Festival
|
Now Accepting submissions for The Education Channel's Independents' Film Festival. All genres of film completed between March 2006 and May 2008 are welcome. Work must be submitted for review on DVD (NTSC) in English or with English subtitles by May 30, 2008. Premieres are strongly preferred.
The Education Channel will televise the Independents' Film Festival in the fall with presentations throughout the month of September, culminating in a public event in early fall of the "best of" the festival. Web and flash films are also accepted for viewing on the Independentsfilmfest.com website as part of the festival.
All entries are competitively judged in the professional independent, and student categories for the "best of" awards. Entry forms must accompany submissions and are available in a pdf format on the website at http://www.independentsfilmfest.com. Entries are also accepted through the Withoutabox.com website.
