Documentary Soup Wins January Film Slam

The Film Slam winners for January have been announced.  Host Tim Anderson says that only 4 points separated the top 3 vote getters.

First place winner is Soup, a documentary film by Mark Wright, about Daily Bread soup kitchen in Melbourne.  Soup was produced by Erika Galeana.  You can find out more about Mark's work at

Second place went to the comedic horror The Cleaver by Pascal Fortin.  It was produced by Corey Beuragard.

Third place was Atheist in a Foxhole.  It was written by Adam Elmhorst, directed by Enrique Mendoza and Kwaku Otchere, and produced by Ed Stork.  Note to the filmmakers:  World War II was no longer being fought in Italy in 1947.
