Film Florida Launches Film Florida TV
(released Monday, June 15, 2026)
By Kimberly Burke

Film Florida has launched FILM FLORIDA TV, a FREE to watch spotlight on Florida-based projects from filmmakers across the state. Film Florida members will have the exclusive opportunity to submit their Florida-based projects to the platform on a quarterly basis.

The beta test for the site came in March during the Film Florida TV Student Film Competition. Students were given 10 days to make a Florida-themed short film. Eligible films were the first to be featured on the platform. This will be a new way to see films without distribution deals and therefore creating more visibility to Florida films.

"The way films are seen by viewers is rapidly changing," says Matt Wohl, President of Film Florida. "Distribution can be the biggest hurdle when getting your project in front of your intended audience. Whether you're pursuing distribution or want to share your work, Film Florida TV helps connect your film with viewers."

"Our goal is to highlight Florida's unique stories and provide a place for talented filmmakers to showcase their work," says John Lux, Executive Director of Film Florida.

Film Florida TV will host curated content from feature films and shorts to podcast episodes and educational TV.
