Locals Among Winners at CENFLO

The Central Florida Film Festival, also known by its moniker CENFLO, has announced the winners of the inaugural festival which was held at The Osceola Center for the Arts September 1-4, 2006.
First place honors for a feature film went to Beautiful Dreamer. Beautiful Dreamer, a World War II drama, was also screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and was submitted by Producer Chase Chenowith of Georgia . Chase received $1500 in prize money for his win. Directed by Terri Farley of Los Angeles, Beautiful Dreamer stars Brooke Langton, Colin Egglesfield, Barry Corbin, and James Denton.
First place in the short film category went to Near the End directed by St. Augustine resident Eli T. Pena. Near the End was 5 minutes in length and featured horror cinema. Eli received $500 in prize money.
Other feature film finalists included Zzyzx, directed by UCF graduate Richard Halpern and written by Longwood resident Art D’Alessandro, with third place going to the documentary Plagues and Pleasures of the Salton Sea. Short film finalists included The Kids' Table, directed by Brian Wasiak, To Form a More Perfect Union, directed by Steve Crawford, and The Father, Unblinking, directed by Ziggy Attias.
