The 24th Edition of the Miami Shorts Film Festival is taking place November 14- 16, 2025. SilverSpot Cinema Downtown Miami (300 SE 3rd St #100, Miami), O Cinema South Beach (1130 Washington Ave, Miami Beach), and Deering Estate (16701 SW 72nd Ave, Miami) will be the venues for the three-day festival.
There will be 9 different screenings in the three days. Opening night screening will be Friday, November 14, 2025 at 8PM at Cinema South Beach. Red Carpet and welcome cocktail reception with drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres from 7-8PM. The screening will be TALES OF DEFIANCE, a selection of six short films whose characters dare to resist - whether against injustice, fate, or quiet pressures of everyday life. The shorts will capture acts of courage, reveal defiance as an act of survival, spark courage or a simple refusal to surrender. The six-film program has a 115-minute running time.
Screening #8 will be the closing of the festival with a screening of WHAT WAS OURS and the Award Ceremony at Silverspot Downtown Miami. The seven films in this screening session invite you to journey back to moments that shaped us - lost joys, forgotten memories, and pieces of ourselves waiting to be found.
On Sunday, November 16th, 2025 at Silverspot Downtown Miami, a free seminar "From ideas to visions: Where thinking meets emotions?" will be at 2PM. SPEAKER - Luigi Di Scipio will help explore what can we do with images? Do films just reflect our ideas or invent new ways of thinking and feeling?
