FFF: Free Film Forums at Florida Film Festival
(released 4/17/2012)

The Florida Film Festival is hosting a few forums this week.  They started today, but there are four more this week.  All of the forums are free and open to the public.

The next one is Wednesday, April 18th at the Enzian from 11:00am to 12:30pm.  It is Perseverance: Women In The Industry, which is appropriately sponsored by Women in Film & Television - Florida.  They will discuss what it takes to make it as a woman in the industry.  The panelists include Shannah Laumeister, Sabine Hoffman, Lauren Wolkstein, and Anne Watters, who is the Program Director of Film at Full Sail.  Moderating the will be Central Florida's own Sylvia Caminer, who has her film An Affair of the Heart in this year's festival.

On Thursday, the Orlando Film Commission is sponsoring the How to Turn Small Movies Into Big Box Office Success forum.  Panelists include New Think Creative's Janet Lyons and Mike Campbell.  This forum takes place at the Enzian from 11:00am-12:30pm.

On Friday, there are two forums.  The first one is The Agony and the Ecstasy of the Screenwriter in Today's Hollywood.  It takes place at the Enzian from 11:00am to 12:30pm.  UCF Film Professor Barry Sandler will moderate over Mike Werb, Don Mancini, and Justin Lader.

The second forum on Friday is the Filmmaker Forum which takes place at the Regal Cinemas Winter Park Village from 2:00pm to 3:30pm.  The moderator will be Rollins College Professor Denise Cummings.  She will discuss along with audience participants whatever comes to mind on the topic of filmmaking.  The filmmakers are picked by the festival and have not been announced at this time.
