Ghostbusters part of Free Movie Night Downtown
(released 3/4/2010)

The Florida Film Festival and Orlando Film Festival are joining forces with the Downtown Development Board to bring free movies to downtown Orlando.  The two screenings are being called Movie Night Downtown.

The first movie will be the 1984 comedy Ghostbusters.  It will be shown at the Walt Disney World Amphitheatre at Lake Eola Park on Sunday, March 14th from 7:45pm to 10:00pm.  Again, admission is free.

The second screening will be a picnic and movie under the stars, slated to coincide with the Florida Film Festival on Sunday, April 11th. Attendees are invited to bring blankets and box dinners, and watch the 1985 comedy Cocoon, which also celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

In addition to the movies, each event will begin with improvisational comedy from the SAK Comedy Lab, which will get the audience in the mood with a fifteen minute performance prior to the screenings.

The Orange County Regional History Center is a proud supporter of this event and assists in promotion and sponsorship of Movie Night Downtown as part of the kickoff to its Out of this World:  Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television exhibit which runs through May.
