New Film Professor Betsy Kalin Starting at UCF

Betsy Kalin is preparing to start a teaching position in the film program at the University of Central Florida. The West Hollywood, CA resident announced on Twitter that she is looking forward to start a new chapter and be close to family.


Kalin is an award-winning director/writer/producer at Itchy Bee Productions that she formed in 1997. Betsy Kalin has served as an adjunct professor in Social Impact Documentary at Saybrook University and Emerson College of Los Angeles. Receiving a BA in Women Studies from Columbia College at Columbia University and an MFA in Directing from the University of Miami she brings real world skills and educational achievements.

Kalin’s film "East LA Interchange" has won ten jury and audience awards around the country at film festivals. "Click" and "Hearts Cracked Open" are also award-winning films she has created.
