Orlando Homecoming for Benjamin Piety

UCF grad Benjamin Piety's film Sunlit Shadows started the year with a run at the Sundance Film Festival. It has now played at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin. His previous short The Lonely Lights. The Color of Lemons also played at SXSW in 2007. Lonely Lights was filmed in Orlando while Ben was still at UCF.

Ben is making a homecoming of sorts. He actually lives in the Los Angeles area now, but will have Sunlit Shadows screened at this year's Florida Film Festival. The FFF runs March 28th through April 6th.

Sunlit Shadows is part of the Shorts Program #2: Slide. That program is screening on Sunday, March 30th at 1pm at the Enzian and also on Wednesday, April 2nd at 4:45pm at the Regal Cinemas at the Winter Park Village.

Ben wrote and directed the film. The editor and executive producer is Morgan Gross. Ben and Morgan are pictured below at the Sundance Film Festival in front of the Egyptian Theatre in Park City, Utah. Also working on the film was Director of Photography Scott Uhlfelder, another UCF graduate, with whom Ben worked on Lonely Lights.
